Do's and Dont's of Digital Painting
Do's and Don'ts of Digital Painting
The possibilities of digital painting and digital art in general are almost infinite. There is basically nothing you cannot do as long as you just know how to approach it. Yet an abundance of programs and tools has both advantages and disadvantages. Knowing what to favour and what to avoid can be both a huge time saver and help you sidestep frustration.
What we will focus on in this article are some basic tools and techniques of digital painting; we'll try to root out pitfalls and see how to avoid them. Mind that all of the points mentioned below aren't rules carved in stone; there are always cases where breaking the rules can be much more fruitful for a certain effect than following them too strictly. With time and practice you will gain good judgment over when to follow the guidelines and when to leave them aside.
Note: Names of certain tools might vary depending on t

All About Yarn: Tips for Knitters and Crocheters
As a knitter or crocheter, one of the things that you begin to become an expert on as time goes on is yarn. Different weights of yarn are required for different types of projects, and different material will give your finished project varied texture and appearance. This is a guide to help you read yarn labels, as well as learning your own preferences when concerning yarn material.
An Introduction
The material that yarn is made from is placed into two categories—synthetic and natural fibers. Synthetic fibers, which are man-made fibers, include nylon, acrylic, polyester, and other fibers. Natural fibers are yarns that are derived from animals and plants. Some popular natural fibers are wool, mohair,  cotton, and bamboo.
Another category that yarn is organized in is weight. Yarn is produced in different thicknesses, and it usually indicates on the label what weight it is, with 0 or 1 being the lightest, and 6 being the heaviest. Yarn is organized into weigh

An introduction to sewing machines
Hello! My name is Arras and I've been sewing for about 12 years. I'm here today to tell you a little about sewing machines!
Prior to the invention of the sewing machine, the only way to sew was to do so by hand, and it was a very time-consuming process. In the early 1800's, a number of different inventors created machines that could do this same work considerably faster, although it wasn't until the middle of the century that they would become more widely available. The sewing machine will never completely replace hand sewing- some things are just better done by hand, or are not even possible on a machine, and many people simply love hand-stitching- but if you're going to be doing a lot of sewing, a sewing machine is an invaluable tool.
Here's the basic anatomy of a modern sewing machine:

The backstitch lever reverses the direction of the stitches, which allows you to "lock" your stitches into place. The hand wheel operates the machine, but gives yo

An Overview of Embroidery
Embroidery, according to the Free Dictionary is ornamentation of fabric with needlework.  But that doesn't quite cover it.  Embroidery by sewing with fiber has been done with everything from cotton to wool to gold, and with mediums as thin as sewing thread, and as thick as ribbon. While it is believed that embroidery itself is older, the oldest surviving examples are from the Chinese Tang dynasty and from Egypt both are over 1,000 years old.
Embroidery has appeared on clothing, shoes, wall art, and cushions on furniture. Most comm

Materials you need, techniques to hold and use the crochet hook and main stitches you must know, all in one article for you to start crocheting right now!
Why crochet is that easy?
Unlike knitting, crochet uses just one tool (a single hook) rather than two (a pair of needles) and you work one yarn loop at a time; these two factors are enough to make it less complicated.
Do you want another reason to choose crochet?
Well, another advantage is that it’s easier to drop your project and pick it up again without losing your work; The stitches won’t slide off just like with the needles, therefore there’s no chance of a line of stitches unraveling before your eyes!
Crochet projects develop more quickly (this is ideal for beginners and impatient people)
What do you need to start?
You won't need many materials to get started. The basics you'll need consist of a croch

Just wanted to let you guys know that if you are in the Miami area that I will be going to Florida Supercon today!
I'm just visiting one day, but I'm super excited!

Anyway, I don't cosplay or anything, so won't be wearing anything too fancy aside from a tiny purple octopus atop my head. C:

Other than that, I will be with a large man wearing a banana suit, another boy dressed as the main character of One Piece, and another dressed as a ninja. (what a group!)

And Lord-Zargaran will also be there, but he'll be dressed normal. :b <3

So say hi to us if you're around!

But now you guys know where I live! Oh my!

And don't be concerned if you come on my profile page and find all of my pictures in storage. I recently did a silly thing, and I'm just trying to prevent something terrible from happening. Don't think I'm deactivating or anything! D:
